How Acupuncture Can Support Your Health This Fall: Getting Back Into Routine

Now we’ve entered September… It’s fall, back to school, and the summer is officially over meaning it’s time to get back into our usual routines.

… Easier said than done.

After spending a summer vacationing, maybe slacking off juuust a little because that’s what summer is for, it’s really hard to get back into routines. Trying to get focussed again can come alongside a lot of low energy. You’re adjusting your sleep schedule to (most likely) getting up earlier, you now have less downtime with increased mental load, and on top of that there can be a lot of stress that comes with transitioning back to work and school. With all this, it can also be hard to stay on top of regular mealtimes as well. Acupuncture can be a big support during this time.

Stress is a great thing to tackle first. Acupuncture is amazing for helping calm the nervous system. Acupuncture stimulates sensory nerves, sending signals to the brain and nervous system, that can influence how your body responds to stress. It also is amazing in aiding the body back towards a more regulated state. Acupuncture can also help with the physical feelings that come alongside stress such as tense and sore muscles.

Holding all that stress can be exhausting, so if we can target the stress and help to minimize those feelings, it takes less away from your energy and gives more opportunity to boost you up.

Acupuncture can also help to improve sleep. It can be beneficial for a variety of sleep issues such as:

  • Difficulty falling asleep

  • Restless sleep

  • Waking during the night

  • Feeling unrefreshed in the mornings

Sleep is a key culprit in what kind of energy levels you possess during the day.

Nourishment also plays an important role is boosting energy levels. If you’re not digesting properly, you are not effectively breaking down your food which makes it difficult to get all the energy and nutrients your body needs from those meals. Acupuncture is great for supporting and boosting the function of your organs needed to do this effectively. Getting support from acupuncture is great but it’s also incredibly vital to ensure you’re focussing on consuming regular meals, adequate protein, hydrating properly, and not relying solely on caffeine to get you through your day.

It's important to remember that acupuncture isn’t a replacement for the basics.

But what does an “energy supporting” treatment look like?

Each acupuncture treatment varies depending on the individual and what it is that they’re struggling with, whether it be:

  • Fatigue + poor sleep

  • Fatigue + high stress

  • Afternoon energy crashes

  • Digestive issues

  • Tension/headaches

  • Feeling mentally foggy or overwhelmed

… Or all of the above. We can help through regular acupuncture treatments and potentially herbal formulas depending on your specific situation and preferences.

Acupuncture treats the individual not the overarching symptom. Let acupuncture help you make this fall a smooth transition. 🤍🍂
